PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan refuses to step down

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has ruled out the possibility of his resignation in the wake of team's dismal Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 campaigns.
Shahid Afridi and his men were knocked out of the Asia Cup following a loss against Bangladesh and subsequently they also failed to reach the World T20 semi-final after losing three of their four group matches.
The PCB formed a fact finding committee to ascertain the reasons for the team's poor show in the two major events. The report, which was supposed to be confidential, was leaked in the media creating a crisis in the cricket board.
Soon after, it was widely reported in the Pakistan media that the PCB chairman, miffed with the leaked reports, has contemplated resignation.
However, the 82-year-old veteran insisted there was no truth in the media speculations.
"There is no truth in the rumours that I am considering stepping down," he told the media yesterday.
Khan, who is serving his second term as PCB chairman, has refused to comment on the committee's report for now.source-intoday
