Bad news for the Sri Lankan fans, as Angelo Mathews is not playing due to hamstring injury he sustained in Sri Lanka’s last match against England.

Both the teams, South Africa and Sri Lanka have played poor cricket throughout the tournament and have paid price for that. The two teams who have qualified for the semi-final from Group 1 are West Indies and England, and the two teams have played excellent cricket in patches, if not consistent, over the last few weeks. South Africa lost to England in a high scoring game and then against West Indies in a match where their batsmen were troubled by the Caribbean spinners. Chris Gayle bowled in an international match after four years and managed two wickets, as South Africa lost to West Indies in what turned out to be a close encounter.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka have been poor. They went down fighting to England with their captain Angelo Mathews stepping up on the occasion. Sri Lanka were beaten easily by the West Indies, and even Afghanistan gave some initial troubles to the defending champions, who have crashed out from the T20 World Cup 2016 in the first round itself.
